A meeting with sama yoga Her natural curiosity about univeral truth and her interest in new people, places and experiences ensured that Natalie’s first encounter with yoga hit the spot. At the age of 22, she started exercising on her yoga mat at home but soon moved to AnwerpYoga for lessons and workshops. During holidays in yoga paradise Bali, she encountered Sky Akasha Tobias and sama yoga, which both left a strong impression on her. Back in Belgium she decided to attend a sama yoga teacher training. The first ten intensive course days in Sweden (summer 2008) convinced her she was on the right track and that there was so much more she wanted to learn. Crossing borders, going deeper Natalie quit her job as a make-up artist and left for Bali to attend part two of her teacher training. When she returned to Antwerp again, she decided it was time to wrap up her old life in Belgium to make way for living an unrestricted yogic lifestyle. From June 2009 onwards she lived and worked in Sweden, the United States and Bali. Besides attending Sky’s lessons and having intensive talks with Swami Vagishananda Saraswati, Natalie also built experience teaching sama yoga in classes and workshops. The close presence and deep involvement of the trinity Swami, Sky and sama yoga made this period an intense and enlightening adventure for her. The path of the heart After a year of non-stop yoga, Natalie felt she had to make amends with something back home, so she returned to Belgium. However fourteen months of hard work in hospitality and corporate business made it once more clear to her that yoga was her destiny in life. Since 2012 Natalie has been working as a full time yogi and has her own company: One Yoga Heart. She teaches at several yoga schools in Antwerp and regularly travels throughout Europe, teaching one day or weekend workshops. The yoga lessons of One Yoga Heart are intuitive and soft. The style ranges from restorative mildness (yin) to a more dynamic flow (hatha/vinyasa). The focus is to listen to your inner voice. Natalie wishes to share the knowledge and experiences that provide her with peace of mind and useful insights. Her trademark is said to be ‘softness in movement’.
